Laneige Lip Sleeping Mask Review

Laneige Lip Sleeping Mask Product Review

The Laneige Lip Sleeping Mask seems to be on it’s way to becoming a product of cult beauty status.  Not only did it start out with tons of buzz and positive reviews but it seems to have real staying power because it’s being repurchased over and over by the people who use it.  I am one of those repeat buyers.  I am also one of those Sephora shoppers who tends to buy many of the most buzzed about products but do I generally purchase those items again?  9 times out of 10 the answer is no. That doesn’t mean that I didn’t enjoy whatever newest-most buzzed about product I bought, it just means that it wasn’t something that I absolutely had to have in my bathroom cabinet or makeup bag.  The Laneige Lip Sleeping Mask is something I only first tried because I purchased it with a gift set at Sephora (how absolutely predictable of me, right?)

The gift set above is no longer available but it was a great one.  Most the gift sets are worth it but there are definitely some that are better than others.  I didn’t know what to expect when I first tried the lip sleeping mask but I gave it a whirl and instantly my lips felt soothed and healed.  I hadn’t even gone to bed yet.  I knew immediately that I was going to use this as more than a mask and totally use it often as a lip balm too.  It’s difficult to describe how different the Laneige Lip Mask is compared to anything else I have ever used.  It’s really that different.  The morning after my first night using it, my lips felt extraordinary.   Living in Michigan, it’s not too hard to develop chapped lips that feel like they last 4 months out of the year.  The air is so dry and the lip scrubs/balm combination that works like a charm during the spring and summer months simply isn’t effective during the winter.   I hate it because that also leaves 4 months of the year where I don’t wear the lipsticks I would like to because my lips look crummy.  I feel like this lip mask is going to change that for me from now on.   I should also add that this lip mask is a Sephora Exclusive and you can’t buy it anywhere else.  Here’s the direct link to the lip mask on Sephora.com, where it sells for $20.

I usually only write reviews and posts about products that I love and the Laneige Lip Sleeping Mask is no different.  And please please be cautious about buying this from any third party sellers.  Because of the popularity of this product it’s already all over Amazon where it’s being sold for a few dollars less but it’s very possible that these are counterfeit items because the Lip Sleeping Mask is a Sephora Exclusive.  That means anyone selling it on Amazon supposedly purchased it from Sephora and is reselling it for less on Amazon.  Let me suggest this report by CBS news on the flooding of counterfeit products into the market via Amazon/Ebay/misc sellers.

And now finally let us take a better look at the product itself with some unboxing photos.

Hello world! It’s nice to meet you and I hope you are having some fun today. My name is Jessica and I enjoy taking care of my skin and offering others skincare advice wherever I can. I also enjoy makeup, especially because I have a lifelong passion for color that probably started with making color palettes with my grandma as a child and being completely obsessed Lisa Frank. I still am constantly making color combinations for eyeshadow palettes and Julep collections that will probably never happen but I will always keep keep going as the possibilities are endless. I’m not sure who I would be without the influence of Lisa Frank’s artwork during my formative years. It’s weird to think about but it’s true. I also enjoy history, especially the WW2 and Civil War eras of American history. I am your girl if you are ever looking for a color palette, an Abraham Lincoln quote, or a suggestion for a skincare product. I hope you enjoy my blog. Please stop by and say hello anytime.
